Whether you're just starting your violin journey or looking to elevate your playing, my lessons are tailored to your individual goals.
Together, we'll build a strong foundation in technique, music theory, and performance skills—guided by the Crescendo System, a structured and proven approach to developing both practice habits and stage confidence. In our lessons, you'll develop a comprehensive skill set designed to support long-term musical growth and enjoyment. We’ll focus on the essential elements of violin playing while gradually building more advanced skills through structured, personalized instruction. Each lesson integrates technical development with musical expression to help you become a confident, well-rounded musician.
You will learn to:
Establish correct violin posture and bow hold to support ease of playing and prevent injury.
Develop control and consistency in bowing technique for tone production and articulation.
Read sheet music fluently, with a clear understanding of rhythm, pitch, and musical notation.
Play a wide range of repertoire, from simple melodies to more expressive and challenging pieces.
Understand music theory fundamentals as they apply directly to violin performance.
Build effective practice habits using scales, etudes, and exercises tailored to your level.
Interpret music with greater expression, dynamics, and phrasing.
(Optional) Prepare strategically for auditions, graded exams, or public performances.

About

Michael Norberg is a German violinist with over 25 years of experience in both performance and music education. He studied under esteemed mentors such as Prof. Varga, David, and Wallin, earning an Artist Diploma from the College of Music in Detmold, Germany. Throughout his career, he has performed for many years with several prestigious orchestras, including the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.
In addition to his performance career, Michael is deeply dedicated to teaching and guiding the next generation of musicians. He is passionate about helping each student reach their full potential, combining technical precision with a supportive, individualized approach. His teaching philosophy emphasizes not only musical excellence, but also personal growth, confidence, and a lifelong love for music. In 2022, Michael published the successful book series Art of Italian Violin, which explores the rich tradition of Italian luthiers and the craftsmanship behind some of the world’s finest violins.
